BARC recently acquired a new Home flying field. After many years our home field property was sold and we were without a home field for a couple of years. Flying at Empire Airport was and still is great and it accommodates those in the northern area of our club. Now we have a new home field at Thompsonville Airport which is most convenient for those members in the southern area of our coverage.
The Thompsonville airport is just west of M 115 on Lindy Rd. across from Crystal Mt. Resort. Below you will find a drawing showing where we maintain our pit area. The Thompsonville Airport is an especially good layout for RC flying because no matter the time of day the sun is always at your back and is not a factor in flying. We have both a north/south and an east/west runway for our use. This is an unusual situation and one for which we are very thankful.
