Our goal at the American Cancer Society is to reduce the number of breast cancer deaths by 50% by the year 2015. And with help from volunteers just like you, we can do it. Let's remember our number one message: a mammogram is a women's best defense against breast cancer because it catches the disease early, when it is the most treatable. After the age of 40, women should get a mammogram every year.
Our Tell-A-Friend program uses volunteers to contact friends, neighbors and relatives to remind them to have their mammogram. It is quick and easy and makes a difference in saving lives.
